Music, Books and Indian Food

One of my favorite memories from last semester was when me and my best friend, Adrienne, headed to West Philadelphia. An area we weren't that familiar with. We ended up exploring Penn's campus and exploring the area surrounding it. We found a cool record store that was called "Marvelous" that we ended up spending a good amount of time in and then we headed to a bookstore that had the cutest cat. We finished the day off with Indian food at "New Delhi", something that I had never had before but  I ended up loving it We even ended up having the desserts, the "honey balls" were surprisingly delicious and so was the pistachio ice cream. Ahhh, Philly, I can't wait to be reunited, hopefully a trip will be possible in a few weeks.

Spring Rain

These last couple of days have been nothing but overcast, even though I prefer to not be sick, I guess my cold has perfect timing. I've been laying around, being lazy, watching movies, eating junk food and just enjoying some down time. Luckily, I have some plans for the rest of the week that include a psychic reading, best friend time, a dinner date and indian food in the city. What's are your plans for the rest of the week?

Strawberry Shortcake Cake

I haven't baked a full sized cake in a long time, and as soon as I saw this recipe I knew that I had to try it out. Strawberry shortcake is one of my favorite desserts, but I never thought about turning that dessert into a sponge-cake form. This is the perfect thing to bake on a sunny Spring day. I decided to decorate the top with extra strawberries, I did it in a hurry but I'm sure there are all kinds of different things you could do when it comes to decorating.

PS: This recipe makes the BEST cream cheese frosting ever, I will definitely be reusing the cream cheese icing recipe for other types of cake.

Down by the Water

I have a good feeling about this summer. Although it has started off pretty slowly, I can feel the anticipation of future bonfires and parties coming our way. With this being my last full summer in York, I feel like I have to do as much as possible. One of my favorite days so far consisted of good food, pinchot lake, two of my best friends and my best friends roommate from South Korea, Katie.  Katie was staying with Adrienne for a few days after we left Philly so we took her to Pinchot Park while she was here and to go get pizza. We ended up having such a fun time, and the weather was a nice surprise because it was supposed to rain all day. I can't wait to see what the rest of this break is filled with!

PS: Today is my 19th birthday! It seems so strange that the last year flew by so quickly, I remember my 18th birthday like it was yesterday! And I can't believe my sweet 16 was three years ago. Time is flying by.
